What’s a Market Maker—and Why It Matters for Your Yields

In every trading market, someone needs to stand between buyers and sellers to keep things moving. That’s the role of a market maker.

Market makers quote prices on both sides of the market (buy and sell), ready to step in and provide liquidity when others hesitate. Their goal? Profit from the spread between the two prices—while keeping markets smooth and liquid.

In TradFi, big institutions do this. In DeFi, smart contracts or algorithmic strategies often take the wheel.

But Why Should You Care?
